The modern kayaker owes much to the indigenous 'qajaq culture' of the Arctic north. Annually, each July, the people of Greenland gather in one location to celebrate their rich kayaking history, under the banner of the Greenland National Kayak Championships. This important event helps the Greenlandic people preserve and maintain connection with many aspects of their cultural story, as it fosters a greater understanding of this past history in the eager minds of their future generations.
Send Them To Greenland is an independent effort organized to provide some financial assistance to US participants who wish to attend these competitions, with the further goal of enhancing, through individual realtionships, our collective understanding of past and present Greenlandic kayak history.
Details on our use of funds can be viewed under the Contributor Bill of Rights link off our main page. It is our hope that you will consider assisting us in our Mission. Thank you to all who have!
